How many race shirts do you have that sit in a drawer because they are too big or too small? Race shirt sizing is a big pet peeve of mine.
I wish race directors would post a sizing chart for their shirts or at least say whether the shirt is going to be cotton or technical fabric. I need a small (or smaller) in unisex technical shirts but I always get a medium in cotton t-shirts, so I am always torn when it comes time to put my shirt size on the entry form.
Three too large shirts later, I think I will be putting "small" down the next chance I get!

Totally a pet peeve of mine too! I've only seen one race that posted sizing information. How about saying if they have gender specific shirts too? That doesn't even help a whole lot though, given the wide range that women's specific tech shirts can come in. I've got M-XL that all fit the same.
My pet peeve is races that change shirts year to year. A couple races in particular I did one year and the medium fit great. The next year, the medium is way too small because they switched to a different supplier. Also, it seems technical shirts fit entirely different than cotton shirts and they don't always tell you at registration what you are getting. I have started to try on the shirts before I leave the expo/packet pickup. Occasionally though I'll get a stubborn volunteer who won't give out a size other than the one you "registered" for. Ugh. *end rant*
This is a huge pet peeve for me!!! I think it is ridiculous that almost half of the racers at a race are usually women, and they can't have women's shirts!! No one would ever expect a man to wear a woman's shirt!! I generally go with small no matter what. Seems to be the safest.
So how did your race go today? Enjoy your Sunday with nothing to do!
Mine was at IMAZ last year. I wanted to buy a biking jersey (gotta have that Ironman jersey for people to stare at while training) and thought the large would fit me fine. A little snug and that's the largest they had. So, I bought it and decided the best way for it to fit was to lose some weight. I'm still working on that
